It’s the most prevalent cancer in Canada.

According to the Canadian Cancer Society, one in eight Canadian women will be affected by breast cancer.

Almost everyone has been impacted by cancer, and that applies to the Wolfe Auto Group family as well.

Last year, one of their sales representatives was diagnosed with bone cancer. Later on, his wife was diagnosed with stomach cancer and later passed away.

The fact that cancer hit close to home for the Wolfe Auto Group made it natural for them to raise money for breast cancer research.

“For us, the biggest reason we wanted to raise the money is because cancer affects so many people,” said Wolfe Auto Group director of sales Patrick Curtis.

“It affects our Wolfe group family as well.”

For the second year in a row, Wolfe Auto Group decided to raise money for Breast Cancer Research during their second annual ‘Drive to Survive Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign.’ Throughout the month of October, they raised money for cancer research.

“Our owner is big about giving back to the community,” said Curtis. “We’ve really upped our charity work, and this one, in particular, is a big one for us.”

Across their four dealerships, Wolfe Auto Group donated $50 for every new or pre-owned vehicle purchase during the month of October.

After a month of raising money, a cheque for $14,900 was presented Nicola Romaniuk of the Canadian Cancer Society.

“We thought we’d be around the $10,000 mark,” said Curtis. “For us to hit that number was great for us.”

“Definitely, we will do it next year.”
