Delta - The Editor, Re: "Commercial truck rest stop coming to Delta," the Now, July 9. Truckers do need a place to rest when they're on the road, but the proposed site at Nordel Way and Highway 91 is the wrong place for this.
The intersection is already heavily congested during rush hours with traffic heading to the bridge. Having trucks trying to get in and out of this truck park and join the queue for either the Alex Fraser Bridge or the weigh scales is just going to add to the congestion.There is already a truck pull-out south of 64th Avenue on Highway 91. It would make more sense to expand that than create this new space.Lori MayhewDelta
