Surrey Libraries has announced the winning entries for the 2014 Young Adult Writing Contest - an annual competition highlighting the talents of young adults aged 12-18.

Surrey Libraries received 249 submissions in the categories of Poetry, Short Stories and Comics.

The young writers harnessed their talents to bring to life a collection of works that explores the highs and lows of human experience.

Although only 20 entries were selected to receive prizes, every individual who submitted an entry is a winner in their own right for their creativity and for being fearless enough to put their work forward.

All participants were recognized in October at an awards gala at the City Centre Library.

Winners are listed on the Surrey Libraries website.
