CLOVERDALE — A cool $275,000 was raised for cancer-related initiatives during Saturday’s Gone Country benefit concert, according to the brothers who organized it all.

The event is an annual fundraiser staged by twins Chris and Jamie Ruscheinski.

A fundraising goal of $250,000 was set prior to this year’s concert, which featured Blackjack Billy and other bands.

“With the weather being so iffy, I was afraid we wouldn’t even come close to that number, figuring that attendance would be down,” Jamie wrote Monday on the group’s Facebook page, Twins Cancer Fundraising.

“We raised $275,000. I still can’t believe it.”

The Ruscheinskis also thanked the many volunteers who help make the event happen.

“You make us look like we do this every day,” Jamie wrote.

“Our event rides on your energy and you guys bring it every single year.”
