'Art of the Night' workshop to open Delta Photo Club's season

Australian photographer Richard Tatti will help kick of the Delta Photo Club's 2024-25 season with an online workshop focusing on creating nightscape images.

Delta Photo Club is kicking off its 2024-25 workshop season with a deep dive into creating nightscape images.

Professional photographer and instructor Richard Tatti from Bendigo, Australia will join club members and guest via Zoom on Wednesday, Sept. 11 from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. for a presentation titled “Land & Sky – The Art of the Night.”

“I’ve spent many years photographing the stars and perfecting the craft of light painting and blending of images,” Tatti said in a DPC press release.

In his two-hour class, Tatti will delve into what it takes to create awe-inspiring nightscape images and share inspirational stories, practical guidance, location scouting, gear, shooting considerations and post-processing tips to help capture the beauty and splendour of the night sky.

Tatti runs regular workshops in Australia and leads a very active and resourceful YouTube channel ("Nightscape Images") with close to 300 videos and 80,000 subscribers.

Those wishing to attend Tatti's workshop must either join the club (sign up at deltaphotoclub.com/member-sign-up-form; cost is $60/year for individuals, $90 for families and $35 for youth and students) or sign up as a guest (tickets are $10, payable by e-transfer to treasurer_membership@deltaphotoclub.com) by noon on Sept. 11.
