Some new attractions will be coming to the Cloverdale Rodeo and Country Fair this year.

The Cloverdale Rodeo and Exhibition Association (CREA) released info March 20 on what’s going to be new in 2025. Most of the new attractions are included with a Fairgrounds admission ticket.

“We wanted to increase the attractions, but not increase the cost,” Jen Temple, CREA treasurer, told the Cloverdale Reporter. “How much can people do for such a low cost?”

Temple said early bird tickets are $12 (plus taxes and fees) and kids 12-and-under get in free.

She said the idea was to increase the value for money so families could show up and see and do more for the same Cloverdale Fairgrounds gate-admission price.

Temple said new attractions this year include: the South Gate Action Stage, RollaRama, and the Lasso Lounge.

The Lasso Lounge, an all-ages venue, was around last year for Canucks game viewing parties, but she noted CREA is augmenting the area this year.

“Last year we had the Canucks on the big screen, but we’re also going to have live music, duelling pianos, and of course live games—hopefully the Canucks are doing well in the playoffs,” Temple said, “That area is about bringing people together in a good way.”

There will also be DJs, solo acts, and ad hoc performances at the Lasso Lounge.

Temple said RollaRama will be a roller rink by day that will host both public skating and hectic roller derby battles between Vancouver-area teams. At night time, RollaRama will be transformed into a disco roller skating party zone. Roller skates will be available to rent for a nominal fee, but fair-goers are able to bring their own skates too.

Temple added that fees for all skate rentals are being donated to the Cloverdale Community Kitchen to help fund its outreach programs.

The South Gate Action Stage will feature extreme sports and live entertainment.

“This stage builds on the rodeo’s skateboarding championships,” she explained.

It will showcase skateboarding, BMX trick riders, breaking battles, and a live DJ.

“Where else can you see amazing artists and performers and so many interesting acts for $12?” Temple asked. “We wanted to keep costs down and maximize entertainment value."

The 2025 Cloverdale Rodeo and Country Fair will feature live music and performances on six stages: the Lordco Main Stage, the Longhorn Saloon, the Indigenous stage, the Cookhouse stage, the Hops and Vines stage, and new this year the Lasso Lounge.

The 77th Cloverdale Rodeo and the 134th Country Fair will be held May 16-19 (May long weekend) on the Cloverdale Fairgrounds.
