SURREY — Acclaimed singer/songwriter Dallas Green, better known by his stage name City and Colour, will be playing Surrey's Bell Performing Arts Centre this spring.

His Friday, April 7 concert at the Sullivan Heights-area theatre will be a "solo" one with backing musician Matt Kelly.

The cross-Canada tour kicks off in Courtenay on April 1 and ends in Corner Brook on May 16.

Tickets go on sale at noon Friday, Feb. 3 via Livenation.com.

One dollar from each ticket sold will be given to MusiCounts, a music-education charity.

"Green has often mentioned how invaluable the support from his teachers was as he started to consider music as a career path," according to a Live Nation press release.

"The Band Aid Program equips school music programs with the necessities to give students the chance to discover their talent, empowering them with skills that will help them excel both in the classroom and beyond."

City and Colour hit songs include "Save Your Scissors," "Sleeping Sickness" and "Fragile Bird."
