Five piano students from North Delta were recognized for their musical accomplishments at the Burnaby Clef Honour Recital last month.

Maria Perry and Sean Lavineway, both Grade 8 high school students, received the Heather Baldassare Junior Duet Trophy for their performance of Brahms’ Hungarian Dance No. 5.

Summer Tiuseco, 6, began her piano studies in September and received the JB Processing Award for her performance of Chimes.  In addition, honourable mention was given to Jaden Gacayan, 9, for his performance of Rush Hour and Maria Koh, 12, received the Victoria Warfield Senior Piano Trophy for her performance of Takac’s In a Great Hurry.

All students study piano at Twilight Sound Studios where they study the Royal Conservatory program and also participate in ensemble piano performance. The students are taught by sisters Karina, Kazandra, Krystyna and Klaryssa Pangilinan, who have all achieved their ARCT designation in piano performance.
