Delta Photo Club’s photo of the month for April is Flowerchild, by Cameron Heryet.
What inspired the photographer?
This photograph of my daughter was inspired by one of her favorite songs when she was younger, ‘WildFlowers” by Tom Petty. I wanted to create a shot that was more reflective of her now as an adult. If you look closely at her iris, you will see a reflection of me taking the photo.
What makes this photo special?
This photo was the winner of 2012 Delta Photo Inspiration portrait category, and recipient of a CAPA(Canadian Association of Photographic Art) gold medal.
How was it done?
Canon EOS-1Ds Mark II, Canon EF 50mm f1.4. ISO 100, 1/160 of a second @ f10.0, manual exposure and focus, single Bowens Prolite 60 monolight with Chimera Pro medium softbox. Processed with Adobe Camera Raw and edited with Adobe Photoshop CS5.
