Cloverdale’s June Market Day will be even larger than the May event, according to organizers.
The Cloverdale Arts and Entertainment Association, a non-profit run by volunteers, has partnered with community organizations and businesses to bring in more vendors, more artists and more live performances.

Downtown Cloverdale’s main drag, 176 Street, will be closed to traffic between 56A Street and 58 Street for the markets, as the street will be lined with tents of entrepreneurs offering everything from wine to jewellery – organizers expect to see more than 100 vendors.
There will be two stages, both of which will feature all manner of live entertainment, including musical acts, like Richard Tichelman, a local singer songwriter; folk dance; Ranj Sing, a folk rock singer with an Indian-Western flair; even a fashion show from 12:30 to 1 p.m. on the north stage.
The Fraser Valley Food Truck Festival will attend, including O’Canadawg, The Reef Runner, C’est Si Bon and stands with cotton candy, kettle corn and lemonade.
Oasis Park, located in the breezeway at the corner of 176 St. and 56A Ave., will be filled with artists and artisans, showcasing and creating their work. CAEA has partnered with the Arts Council of Surrey, which celebrates its 50th anniversary this year, to bring around a dozen artists, including members of the Weavers’ and Spinners’ Guild.
Hawthorne Park, in the 5700 block of 176 Street, will host a heritage display, featuring the Surrey Museum’s interactive portable gallery, complete with button making station and other crafts, demonstrations of age-old spinning and weaving traditions, and, from 12 – 3 p.m. the Re-Enactors, who will be offering musical entertainment, intriguing stories of Surrey’s early years, and lively, often humourous audience interactions.
There will be plenty of free activities for kids, including face painting, a bouncy castle and an entertainment from a clown.
