Agassiz residents might have noticed a bit more commotion along Pioneer Avenue this week.
Red Poppy Productions has been filming in the area throughout the day at local restaurant Sossy's Saloon and along Park Street on Tuesday, Sept. 17.
According to sources at Sossy's, the production company is filming "The Wrong Paris," a romantic comedy movie to be released on Netflix. According to the summary, the movie involves a woman who joins a dating show in hopes of seeing Paris, France, only to release it actually takes place in Paris, Texas. She tries to get away and makes every attempt to eliminate herself from the game, but as she develops feelings for the bachelor featured on the show, things get a little more complicated.
The movie is set to star Miranda Cosgrove ("iCarly," the "Despicable Me" series) and Pierson Fode ("The Man from Toronto," "Out of Hand"). It's written by Nicole Henrich ("Vegas Bound," "Leto") and directed by Janeen Damian "Irish Wish," "Falling for Christmas").
There is no release date set for "The Wrong Paris" as of publication.
As a result of filming, the area will be closed to vehicle traffic and pedestrians might be delayed for safety reasons.
