Lord Tweedsmuir will host a screening of Screenagers on Thursday

Lord Tweedsmuir Secondary will host a screening of Screenagers, a documentary that promises to be about the “biggest parenting issue of our time”: screentime.

When Stanford-trained physician Dr. Delaney Ruston became concerned as she watched her daughter scroll through life with rapid-fire thumbs and an attention span of seconds, she began a journey to uncover how screentime affects the development of children and teenagers.

As in her two previous award-winning documentaries on mental health, Ruston presents a “deeply personal” and “vulnerable” portrayal of family life, exploring the connections and confrontations that result from social media, video games, academics and internet addiction.

With stories from parents, children and teens and insights from authors, psychologists and neuroscientists, Screenagers explores how tech impacts a youth’s development and offers advice on how parents and guardians can help their kids navigate the digital world.

Tickets can be purchased at www.eventbrite.com by searching for Lord Tweedsmuir.
