Surrey-based musicians Rykka and Good for Grapes are among performers at this summer's big Squamish Valley Music Festival.

The annual concert will feature headliners Eminem, Bruno Mars and Arcade Fire, Live Nation Canada announced Wednesday.

The three-day festival will be held Aug. 8 to 10 at the Logger Sports Grounds and Centennial Fields in Squamish.

"This event represents a turning point not only for B.C.'s live music industry, but also for Canada's event industry as a whole," said Paul Haagenson, president of Live Nation.

The company will invest $12 million into the 2014 edition of the festival, he said.

An expansion of the festival grounds increases the event footprint from 32 acres to 81 acres, with an expected 35,000 ticketholders in attendance on each of the three days, up from 19,000 per day in 2013.

Weekend passes to the Virgin Mobile-sponsored festival go on sale Friday, Feb. 7 at 10 a.m.

Other artists booked to perform at the fest include Arctic Monkeys, Broken Bells, Foster the People, the Roots, Serena Ryder, Tokyo Police Club, Thievery Corporation and Sam Roberts Band. Full details are at www.SquamishFestival.com.
