Surrey’s star singers win big

Sinigang takes home $1,000 performance prize from the PNE.

Hip Hop group Sinigang from Surrey celebrated its winning routine  on Aug. 23 at the Fair at the PNE’s Star Showdown.

Sinigang – comprised of Angelo Galedo, 18, Adrian Cabanos, 18, Ervinn Tangco, 18, Kevin Locsin, 19, and Ronn Micah Reyes, 19 – received $1,000 for its third place finish.

The PNE Star Showdown saw hundreds of entries from across the province for the three levels of competition.

The 101st annual Fair, an end-of-summer tradition for generations of British Columbians, features over 700 shows, exhibits and attractions that are free with admission.

The 2011 Fair at the PNE runs daily through Labour Day, Sept. 5.
