Trooper to headline Sea Fest kickoff concert in White Rock

WHITE ROCK — Trooper wants people to raise a little hell during a Sea Festival kickoff concert here.

The hit-machine rock band will perform Friday, Aug. 1 at Star of the Sea hall, located on Johnston Road, with musical guests Me and Mae and Tommy Alto.

Tickets for the 19+ show are $52.50 via Ticketweb.ca and 1-888-222-6608.

The concert serves as a starting point for Sea Festival celebrations that weekend in White Rock.

Trooper is known for a string of hits in the 1970s and 1980s, including "Raise A Little Hell," "The Boys in the Bright White Sports Car" and "We're Here for a Good Time (Not a Long Time).

Me and Mae is Shawn Meehan and Jacky Mae, a country duo currently making some noise in B.C. and beyond.

The band Tommy Alto, based in the South Surrey/White Rock area, is currently on tour with its new math-rock sounds.

The concert is produced by White Rock-based Rock.It Boy Entertainment.
