A ‘best of’ production of the hit comedy sketch I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter Chicken comes to Surrey for the first time next week.

Your family dinners may well come with a few laughs, but a theatre group headed to Surrey next week promises to serve up a buffet of sometimes-spicy comedy.

For the first time, South Asian Arts and Bollywood Shenanigans present their live sketch I Can’t Believe It’s not Butter Chicken: The ‘Best Of’ Show at the Newton Cultural Centre.

Since 2010, the so-called Butter Chicken gang has presented its edgy, fast-paced show in three different incarnations.

The Surrey show puts the best bits of the past productions on the menu – there’s no topic that will be on the side and no substitutions.

I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter Chicken: The ‘Best Of’ Show features Munish Sharma, Leena Manro, Jason Vaisvila, Kallol Mitra, Carmel Amit, Sabrina Saran and Surrey’s own Stuart Gray.

It has already run for five shows over three days on the Newton stage (13530 72 Ave.), from Nov. 15-17. And now an additional two shows have been added Nov. 23 and 24, 8 p.m.

The show is for adults 18 and older. Tickets are $20 in advance at butterchicken.eventbrite.ca or at Kamal’s Video Palace (8268 Scott Rd.), or $25 at the door.
