Words that sing

Lyric Singers and Pandora's Collective concert to feature poetry, music, on Oct. 22 in North Delta.

Lyric Singers and Pandora’s Collective present Words That Sing: Calls and Response on Oct. 22 at the Firehall Centre for the Arts, 11489 84 Ave.

It’s an evening of song and poetry featuring more than 20 members of The Lyric Singers chorus and five Lower Mainland poets.

Hosted by Bonnie Nish, directed by Nancy Rahn and accompanied by pianist Betty Suderman, the event will feature songs that are followed by poetry directed towards those songs.

“This is a very coordinated event,” publicist Peter Rahn told The Leader.

The five poets are Heidi Greco, Alan Girling, Angela Rebrec, Mariner Janes and Jude Neale.

Lyric Singers have practiced and performed since 1994. Most members are from Surrey, with others from Langley, New Westminster, Burnaby and the Tri-Cities.

The event is followed by a wine and cheese event and cash bar.

Tickets are $20 for adults and $18 for seniors and students.
