Surrey Homelessness & Housing Society is looking for submissions to its 2014 Youth Film Competition.

Young filmmakers are invited to make a film – and hopefully, make a difference.

The Surrey Homelessness & Housing Society is once again hosting its 2014 Youth Film Competition.

Youth aged 12 to 24 are asked to explore homelessness and what it looks like for people to participate in ending homeless. Films can be between 30 and 60 seconds and raise awareness about the ongoing issue through the use of personal stories, stereotypes, and even comedy. Videos will be used in an effort to eradicate homelessness in Surrey.

All films must be planned, shot and edited by youth. Involvement of parents, teachers and professionals must be limited to non-creative roles (such as technical advice, funding and characters). Content must be original, copyright cleared and use original or royalty-free music.

Complete guidelines and entry forms can be downloaded at www.surreyhomeless.ca. Submissions will be accepted until April 22.
