It's got parks, the SkyTrain, cheerleaders, the charm of a Blair Witch Project-size budget, and the heavy use of a green screen.
It's called "Super Sweet City" and it's Amrit Bains's tribute to his favourite city – Surrey, B.C.
"I go walking on street," the lyrics go. "So many friendly people meet. Oh I go walking on street. So many friendly people meet. I got swept off my feet. Only thing now, I repeat, here I wanna live my life."
Bains is (reportedly) a bus driver in the city. His Surrey song has close to 4,000 views.
"I lived in many cities. I was born in India in small village. I lived in Vancouver, Burnaby," he told the Huffington Post B.C. in an interview. "I enjoy every city, every town, but when it came to Surrey, I really naturally fell in love with it," Bains explained. "I meet new people all the time. It's like a festival happening every day. It's a big, developed city, at the same time it's like a laid-back village."
The performer's YouTube channel reveals a number of other musical ballads, from "Sweet Touch of Love" (for his 29th wedding anniversary) to "Everybody Rocks" – which comes with a slogan "Music is the only true universal language... everyone knows how to speak and everyone understands."
