The Cloverdale Business Improvement Association is holding an Extraordinary General Meeting next week.
The BIA will host the meeting Tuesday, Sept. 24, at the Crossridge Church (the Clova Theatre) at 5732 176th Street. Doors will open for the EGM at 5:30 p.m. and the meeting will commence at 6 p.m.
In an email to members, BIA president Dean Moore said the meeting will go over plans for a three-renewal for the organization, beginning in 2025.
“The Cloverdale BIA will discuss a variety of future capital projects that include public parking lot upgrades, additional placemaking signage, and safety upgrades for the Highway 10 intersection at 177B Street,” Moore said.
He added there will be discussion about continued support for the Cloverdale Market Days and Ladies Night Out events, along with the Surrey Santa Parade of Lights and pre-Cloverdale Rodeo events.
“There will also be important discussion on the City of Surrey’s updating of the official community plan and growth strategy for the Cloverdale town centre.”
Moore noted the meeting would be in person at the Clova and would also be available via Zoom for those wanting to attend remotely.
During the EGM, there will be a vote held on three motions: 1. ) to adopt the motion to approve a three-year renewal for the Cloverdale BIA starting in the spring of 2025; 2.) approve the use of the council initiative process as how to measure property owner support for a three‐year renewal term of the Cloverdale Business Improvement Area; and 3.) to adopt a proposed 2025 and 2026 budget.
Moore noted the three-year renewal motion, rather than the usual five-year renewal, was brought forward to align the Cloverdale BIA with other BIAs.
Registration is required for the event and a registration page can be found online by visiting cloverdalebia.com/agm.
