The concerns of business owners in Campbell Heights will be front and centre Nov. 26.

In a “state of the neighbourhood” info meeting, the Cloverdale District Chamber of Commerce will host an event for the East Surrey business community. The Chamber conducted an extensive survey of businesses in Campbell Heights over the summer and they will now present their findings in an open forum.

Scott Wheatley, executive director of the Cloverdale Chamber—whose geographically area includes Campbell Heights—said the event will bring together key stakeholders from both the government and Crown corporations. This will include the City of Surrey and Translink. Called “State of Campbell Heights,” the event will be hosted at Starline Windows.

“(We) did a big survey of Campbell Heights businesses over the summer,” noted Wheatley. “This is the result of (that) work.”

He said the survey results will be presented and there will be an opportunity to ask questions and have a discussion afterwards.

“Come prepared to talk about the challenges you may be facing.”

While not revealing any of the specific survey findings, Wheatley did say some of the issues were the same as other places all over Surrey.

“Transit, taxes, and development permit times,” he noted. “Things of that nature.”

Wheatley said there are a few insightful and interesting things that will be presented as well—things that might not be on people's radar right now.

“It’s all important information,” he added. “I expect that a lot of people with a vested interest in the area will want to attend.”

The event is free, but the Chamber is encouraging participants to pre-register on the Chamber's website at cloverdalechamber.ca.

Starline Windows is located at 19091 36th Avenue. The event runs from 5-7 p.m., with doors opening at 4:30 p.m.
