The Cloverdale Legion is selling commemorative wreaths again this year.

The Royal Canadian Legion’s Branch No. 6 in Cloverdale is letting businesses know that if any of them want to purchase a commemorative wreath for Remembrance Day to get in touch.

On Nov. 11, the wreaths will be taken to Veterans’ Square and placed at the cenotaph during the ceremony.

“We have many wreaths,” explained Lehoux. “We have Federal and Provincial Government wreaths, and Veterans Affairs and others, like fire departments and places like that, and then we have small businesses are able to purchase wreaths.”

Lehoux said many call the Legion and express interest about laying a wreath at the cenotaph. The Cloverdale Legion will get the wreaths made up and arrange transport to the cenotaph.

At the ceremony, the emcee (this year Frank Redekop) will announce each wreath.

“They give us the name of whomever will lay the wreath and the name of their business,” said Lehoux. “When the emcee announces their name, that is their time to go up to the cenotaph to lay their wreath.”

As for the wreaths, Lehoux said anyone interested in purchasing one for Nov. 11 can call the Cloverdale Legion at 604-574-5300.
