Surrey RCMP is investigating a motor vehicle collision that sent a pedestrian to hospital.
On Monday (Oct. 28), at approximately 9:30 p.m., Surrey RCMP responded to a report of a pedestrian struck in the area of 188 Street and 60 Avenue.
When officers arrived on scene, they located a male pedestrian who was transported to hospital with serious injuries, an RCMP release said.
The vehicle involved, an Audi Q3, remained on scene.
"Alcohol is believed to have been a contributing factor in this collision," the release said.
"The driver was arrested for dangerous operation causing bodily harm and served with a 24-hour driving prohibition. The driver was later released without charges pending further investigation, and their vehicle was impounded."
The Surrey RCMP Criminal Collision Investigation Team (CCIT) was called in to assist and the investigation is ongoing.
