Despite heavy rain and hail at the start of the day, an open house hosted by White Rock RCMP and White Rock Fire Rescue was still a success Saturday (June 15).
With police dog, fire hose and equipment demonstrations, an aerial ladder demonstration and booths occupied with community partners, the family-oriented event had something for everyone to enjoy.
"It was amazing! Especially after such crazy weather at first," said White Rock RCMP Const. Chantal Sears, praising the turnout.
"There was a fantastic mix, from babies to toddlers, young adults, regular adults and seniors... the (police dog) put on a show and the bomb squad had some robots out... it was great."
Semiahmoo Community Safety Society was also at the event, busy grilling hot dogs and offering other refreshments for sale, with a constant line-up testifying to its popularity. Proceeds raised benefit Semiahmoo Community Safety Society initiatives.
