White Rock is celebrating the country we live in with a new feature on the city's vehicles.

The city has installed Canadian flag decals on its fleet vehicles as a visible symbol of national pride and a reflection of council’s ongoing commitment to a Canada-first message, a city release said.

This initiative comes as global circumstances continue to impact international trade, prompting a renewed focus on supporting Canadian-made goods and local businesses, the release noted.

The decals are part of a broader effort to inspire civic pride and highlight the importance of choosing Canadian whenever possible.

“Displaying the Canadian flag on our fleet vehicles is a meaningful way to show pride in our country and stand behind the values we share,” White Rock Mayor Megan Knight said.

“In times of global uncertainty, it’s important we support Canadian workers, products, and businesses — both here in White Rock and across the nation.”

The city is also exploring the Canada-first theme more broadly for use in public banners and displays throughout the community, the release continued.

This ongoing effort will reinforce the importance of supporting local and encourage residents and visitors alike to celebrate Canadian identity.
