LETTER: Premiers' trip to Washington just about Trump's ego

A Canada-U.S. trade war is inevitable, this writer says

The recent trip to Washington by all of our provincial premiers, and some federal politicians, accomplished nothing, except to stoke Trump’s ego. A trade war is inevitable. Government energies should be spent preparing for it. There are actions that can be taken to maintain prosperity in our country.

Some people say that we can not win such a war. But if we do not give in to any of Trump’s demands, we will be the winners. We should meet any U.S. tariffs with equivalent counters. If they wish to negotiate for some tariff reductions, they can let us know.
