LETTER: Surrey reader says thanks to kind strangers

From parking lot helpers to hospital workers, kindness mattered

This reader extends thanks to people who helped after a fall.

Editor,

With grateful hearts, my husband and I would like to acknowledge and thank all the people who helped me after I tripped and fell in the Safeway parking lot recently.

Thank you all for your wonderful acts of kindness — finding my husband in our car, getting his walker out of the trunk, actually lifting him up off the ground after he spoke to me but could not get up, putting a jacket/blanket under my head for comfort, holding my hands, speaking kind, reassuring words and calling an ambulance.

Thank you to the kind and efficient paramedics and ER staff at the hospital. Your hard work and dedication are so appreciated.

In today's world where people with guns and machetes are so often in the news, I am happy to write about "angels of kindness."

My left eye is purple, black, green and yellow and my ribs are bruised and sore, but we will be forever grateful to the wonderful people who helped that day. Many, many thanks!
