Donald Trump wants us to join the U.S. and thinks that he can use economic pressure to bully us into doing it. I can think of the following advantages to joining up with them, but please correct me if I am wrong.
• All Americans can get first-class medical treatment, with no danger of spending their life savings or going into bankruptcy.
• America has such a low crime rate.
• America has such a low rate of poverty.
• American courts are never influenced by political parties.
• People can feel safe, day or night, walking the streets in any American city.
It is time for us to disengage from such a close relationship with an unstable partner. It may cause some rough times, but we can get through it. Buy Canadian. Find other sources of supply, and other markets. Rebuild our production capabilities.
