Eighty-three people cycled 400 kilometres from Kelowna to Delta during the annual Ride2Survive event last month.
The riders climbed more than 12,000 feet in elevation during the ride, which took place over 19 hours, with several stops along the way.
Riders covered their arms and legs with names, written in felt pen, of those they lost to cancer and those still fighting.
Ride2Survive president and ride day captain Kerry Kunzli said that the final online donations should bring the tally of the Canadian Cancer Society fundraiser to about $310,000.
Ride2Survive is a grassroots effort, with no paid organizers or endorsements.
All costs of the ride are paid for by the participants, ensuring that every dollar raised is directed to front-line cancer research – more than $1.2 million was raised in the last seven years.
