The Corporation of Delta’s employees raised a record $60,122.72 for the 2011 United Way campaign - Delta’s most successful to date.
Mayor Lois Jackson and Delta’s United Way co-chairs Kate Steel and Jake Gentles presented the cheque to the United Way at a recent council meeting.
“The dedication of our employees to this worthwhile organization is truly exceptional,” said Jackson. “Delta’s successful campaign is another example of staff’s unwavering commitment to the United Way and making a positive impact on individuals in our community.”
Jackson, Delta council and Chief Administrative Officer George Harvie also thanked CUPE Local 454, Delta Managerial Society and all Delta employees for their contributions.
This is the sixth consecutive year that Delta has exceeded its fundraising goal.
