Donation heard around SMH

Royal Canadian Legion Crescent Branch 240 gives $4,000 to SMH Foundation.

SMH Foundation’s Sarah Kocaba accepts at $4,000 cheque from Yvan Theriault (left), George Templeton and Percy Smith of the Royal Canadian Legion Crescent Branch 240.

This is their second donation to the foundation this year, after an earlier $1,000 gift to help match B.C. entrepreneur Jim Pattison’s $5 million donation during the 100 Days to Give campaign.

Since 1999, the legion branch has contributed close to $60,000 to the hospital.

The latest donation will help purchase pocket talkers, which help staff communicate with patients who need help hearing but don’t have a hearing aid.
