Five Hole For Food wrapped up for 2015 on Saturday, concluding its sixth annual cross-Canadian ball hockey tour with its always-signature event on Vancouver's Granville Street.

(If you're not familiar with Five Hole For Food or the concept, the idea is simple: get a team, bring sticks and a ball and cans of food to donate to Canadian food banks, and play.)

While numbers for this year's roadshow aren't in yet, as of 2014 the tour had raised over one million pounds since its creation in 2010. Back then, Five Hole started with 40 people and 200 pounds of donated food, at its inaugural game in L'Ile-Perrot, Quebec.

Last year, the Vancouver stop raised 100,000 pounds alone, and the Canadian Navy donated two tons of food for a game played on its HMCS Preserver. (Read about Five Hole For Food's tour history on its website here.)

This year's tour started in St. John's, Newfoundland on Canada Day. Over almost three weeks, it wound through the Maritimes, Montreal, Ontario, the Prairies, Alberta, and finally Victoria and Vancouver.

"It's been an amazing couple of weeks.... Even though we're out of cities to drive through for this year, there's still a lot of work to do," writes Richard Loat, the event's founder, on Five Hole Food Food's blog published Sunday.

"We wish we could say that these trips fix absolutely everything; they help, but there's still a lot of people in need. We'll do our best to answer the call, and hopefully, you'll be right there with us."

The Vancouver event takes place on Granville Street every year, this time with six rinks set-up between Nelson and Davie, with play supporting the Greater Vancouver Food Bank Society.
