Cycling 200 kilometres might seem like a long haul to most, but for Surrey cyclist Crystal Barnaby (bottom right) the BC Lung Association’s annual Bicycle Trek for Life and Breath is an event she looks forward to all year long.

Celebrating its 29th year, trek participants – including Crystal and her trek Team Kicking Asphalt mates Melanie (top) and Norah – have raised close to $6 million in support of lung health since the event was first established in 1984.

The ride, a two-day, fully supported weekend fundraiser, takes place Sept. 7-8, and is designed for everyone from the occasional rider to the experienced cyclist.
