Vancouver Community College (VCC) student and Surrey resident Thien Vuong has won a gold at The BC Chef’s Association and EAT! Vancouver’s culinary Cold Salon Competition at BC Place Stadium earlier this month.
Vuong, who competed for his first time ever against 25 other chefs from across the province, won Category D – college and high school students’ two individual plated entrées.
“I am very proud to be able represent my school and my coach, Chef Tobias MacDonald,” said Vuong. “I am very lucky to have this opportunity. I will use everything that I have learned to create more tasty and beautiful dishes in the future.”
He also gave thanks to fellow VCC students Brett Spencer, Taylor Devito and Justine Reinhart.
