The Surrey Museum is hosting Asian Heritage Day on May 14 from 1-3 p.m. Admission is free or by donation.
In addition to dance and music performances from China, Japan and Sri Lanka, the day will be a chance to try out crafts such as origami, play some games, see films, learn how to write one’s name in different languages, and cure some ailments with Mongolian acupressure.
New to the event this year is an Asian-themed green idea for the Environmental Extravaganza: A Japanese gift-wrapping workshop that teaches visitors how to quickly wrap presents without paper, tape or scissors.
