Surrey's Health and Technology District will include a Stong's Market, scheduled to open in late 2025 in the City Centre 4 building developed by ICT Group and Lark Group.
The independent grocery store and stand-alone STEMS floral shop are new additions to the development, located off 96 Avenue, north of Surrey Memorial Hospital.
Established in 1931, the B.C.-owned Stong's now operates stores in North Vancouver, the Dunbar area of Vancouver and Squamish. "We offer a wide selection of products – far more than your regular grocery store," boasts a post on stongs.com. "We carry all major national brands, and pride ourselves in supporting local suppliers.
Customers can look forward to "a robust selection of hot meals to go, an Edibles deli and Harvest fresh produce," a news release promises.
“We are thrilled to welcome Stong’s and STEMS to the Health and Technology District,” stated Kirk Fisher, CEO of Surrey-based Lark Group. “Their commitment to community and quality aligns perfectly with our vision for CC4 (City Centre 4 building) and the broader District. As we continue to expand, we aim to create a vibrant environment where residents and businesses can thrive together.”
Surrey's Health and Technology District is "rapidly evolving as a hub for innovation and business, attracting high-profile organizations including the UBC Master of Physical Therapy program in City Centre 1, amongst many others soon to be announced."
Last June, Surrey Board of Trade launched the Surrey Technology and Skills Centre there in partnership with Western Community College.
