Looking for something to do during spring break in Surrey?
West Coast Amusements crews are setting up rides in a parking lot at Guildford Town Centre for two weeks of fun starting Friday (March 14), until Sunday, March 23, at 104 Avenue and 150 Street.
This month, with winter soon turning to spring, the company's web events calendar shows rides coming to Chilliwack, Mission, Tsawwassen Mills shopping mall, Richmond's Lansdowne Centre, Surrey and other sites in B.C.
"Four generations of Hausers operate West Coast Amusements’ three travelling units, which travel to different locations with over 300 people to accommodate a wide variety of clientele," the website says. "The carnival life is in the Hauser family’s blood. The family generations continue the tradition, all actively involved in the carnival business."
Surrey schools are closed from March 17-21, followed by a week of "School Closure Days" March 24-28.
In mid-May, West Coast Amusements' rides will return to Surrey for the annual Cloverdale Rodeo & Country Fair, on the Victoria Day long weekend.
Earlier that month, Royal Canadian International Circus will return to Guildford Town Centre from May 8-11 for eight shows in the mall parking lot, off 104 Avenue. Details are posted on royalcanadiancircus.ca/buy/surrey.
Royal Canadian competes with Florida-based Europa Super Circus, which has announced spring show dates in Surrey as part of a debut tour of Canada, May 1-4 in a Big Top tent at Elements Casino in Cloverdale, via supercircus.com/city/surrey-bc.
