Tickets are being sold for two Surrey-area pantomimes based on the Rapunzel fairy tale.

Fraser Valley Musical Theatre's Rapunzel: The Panto opens Nov. 20 at Surrey Arts Centre's Main Stage, followed a month later by the Royal Canadian Theatre Company production Knotted: Rapunzel's Story at the theatre in Bear Creek Park.

Written by Toby Bradford and Tina Webster, Fraser Valley's show promises "a delightful blend of comedy, slapstick, and enough puns to keep you in stitches," until Dec. 1. Tickets are sold on fvmt.org/rapunzel-the-panto and tickets.surrey.ca, or call 604-501-5566.

Meantime, the Royal Canadian company is excited to return this year with another original pantomime, touring Surrey Arts Centre (Dec. 20-22, Dec. 26-29) and New Westminster's Massey Theatre (Jan. 3-5).

Knotted: Rapunzel’s Story, written by Crystal Weltzin with music by Argel Monte de Ramos, promises "a show filled with groan-worthy puns, creamy slapstick action" and Illya Muji's "incredible choreography." More details are posted on rctheatreco.com and also tickets.surrey.ca, or call 604-501-5566.
