Diverse sounds of The Eagles, Scorpions, Def Leppard, ABBA, Buddy Holly, Everly Brothers, Fleetwood Mac and more are on the concert calendar of Bell Performing Arts Centre in coming weeks and months.
The Surrey theatre is where Take It To The Limit performs "Hotel California" and other hit '70s songs Wednesday, Nov. 6, followed by a Blackout/Hysteria double shot a few nights later, on Saturday, Nov. 9.
Eagles tribute show Take It To The Limit was created for touring by Surrey-based Moon Coin Productions, founded by husband-wife team Jonas Falle and Jeanette O’Keeffe, also responsible for ABBA tribute ABRA Cadabra, booked for a Christmas concert at the Bell on Dec. 6.
With Tom McKillip as music director, Take It To The Limit has been a hit for Moon Coin since the launch of the multimedia Eagles show at the Bell in April 2023. That night, the band did not disappoint with a note-for-note tribute to the American rock icons at the 1,100-seat theatre.
Meantime, the Blackout/Hysteria tribute to The Scorpions and Def Leppard will feature veteran rock musicians Ziggy, Carl Jackson, Rick Allen Chappell, Randy Brown and Von Anthony. Tickets sell for $45 on bellperformingartscentre.com, with $3 from each going to Surrey Food Bank.
"The reason why we picked the Surrey Food Bank is because the high cost of food," said concert presenter Carol Chycoski, Exposure Entertainment. "A lot of single families just cannot afford to eat properly."
On Dec. 2, the Holly Jolly Christmas concert will feature Buddy Holly songs performed by Zachary Stevenson and band, along with girl-group hits of the '50s and '60s.
Next year, the concert-based musical Walk Right Back: The Everly Brothers Story plays the Bell on March 6, followed in October 2025 by the Diane Warren-led Fleetwood Magic, a Vancouver-area band that also features Mike Luniw (guitars, vocals), Zoey Leven (keys, vocals), Curtis Michael Leippi (drums), Dave Kalancha (bass) and Steve Bush (keys).
