Canadian rock ruled at the second annual Barnside Harvest Festival in Ladner over the weekend.
The three-day fest featured music by Loverboy, Wide Mouth Mason, Sloan, Sam Roberts Band and several other bands at Paterson Park, at highways 10 and 17A, from Sept. 13-15.
Friday night's concerts by The Glorious Sons and The Trews were soaked by rain, but the clouds cleared Saturday and Sunday for live music on three stages at the Barnside Brewing-presented festival.
Sunday's festival-closing set by Loverboy had everyone working for the weekend during a 90-minute set of '80s rock hits.
Presenters of the festival promised to bring the event back to Ladner next fall, prompting cheers from the thousands in attendance on Sunday afternoon.
In addition to live music, the festival featured a Kids’ World, artisan market, food trucks, bars, mini golf and a new “Chair Check” hosted by the Tsawwassen Boundary Bay Lions Club.
Delta Firefighters Charitable Society hosted a 50/50 draw for a second year, and Heron Hospice Society held a raffle that included prizes of a handmade guitar signed by Loverboy and two tickets to see Bruce Springsteen in concert.
