Surrey RCMP investigators have posted surveillance video showing two guys suspected of arson in the 14000-block of Grosvenor Road.

Police say the June 29 fire caused substantial damage to the roof of the house, at around 3 a.m.

"The occupants of the home made it out safely, but sadly one of family pets did not make it out and perished in the fire," said Sgt. Tammy Lobb, Surrey RCMP media relations officer.

Following "an extensive CCTV canvass of the area," investigators allege two suspects set fire to a pile of belongings, causing the house to catch fire.

Posted on Youtube.com and sent to news media Thursday (Sept. 5), a video shows two men walking on a sidewalk in the area. Both wore dark hoodies, and one with a heavier build was riding a BMX bike.

"We are releasing a photo/video of the suspects in order to advance the investigation," Lobb noted in a news release.

Anyone with any information about this incident, or anyone with dash-camera footage who was in the area at the time of the incident, is asked to contact Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502 and quote file 2024-93841.
