In parts of Northern BC, eating a 100 mile diet in the middle of winter can look pretty unappetizing. But here in the Fraser River delta, we’re lucky to reap a colourful harvest year-round. It’s easy to set the table with berries, fruits and vegetables grown in Delta, fresh catch from our local waters, even beer brewed with fresh local hops.

There’s a familiar saying, ‘If you ate today, thank a farmer.’ In Delta when you thank a farmer you’re not thanking a stranger, you’re thanking the parents of your child’s best friend at school, or the person filling up beside you at the gas station. Almost half of Delta’s land is agricultural, so you probably chat with farmers nearly every day!

In celebration of farmers, and the local restaurants, cafés, distilleries and breweries who are serving Delta’s harvest, it’s time to #EatDrinkLocal and #BuyBC with Dine Around Delta.

Dine Around Delta Mar. 4 - 20, 2022!

  • Dine out at participating restaurants: Visit welovedelta.ca/dine-around to find restaurants, cafés, craft breweries and other dining options near you. Choose from special fixed price Dine Around meals at $25, $35 or $45. Make a reservation to help businesses manage customer flow.
  • Make a difference with every meal: Restaurants have been among the hardest hit by the pandemic, and local farmers have faced a tough year of extreme weather. When you spend $10 locally, $6.30 stays in our community so supporting local restaurants makes a big difference!
  • It’s time to go out again: Restaurants are still following public health protocols to keep everyone safe, and with easing restrictions now is the perfect time to Dine Around! Not sure about dining in? Many participating restaurants are also offering take-out or take-and-bake options to enjoy at home.

Now that we are finally able to get together in person, consider catering take out options from Coast Tsawwassen Inn during Dine Around Delta. Leila Kwok Photo.
