4 meaningful healthcare careers

1. Medical Office Assistant

Are you a team player who loves to stay organized? Medical Office Assistants play an essential role in doctor’s offices, hospitals and clinics. They also maintain health records, schedule appointments, and track billing. You’ll work hard to keep the office on course so healthcare workers can focus on helping patients on the front lines.

At Vancouver Career College you’ll learn medical terminology and clinical procedures to work effectively with your peers, and you’ll also be placed in a real-world clinic, hospital or office setting to gain practical experience.

“My practicum was the best experience, and that’s where I’m working now. I’m so thankful to Vancouver Career College for helping me find that job!” says Kristina Ongkeko, Medical Office Assistant Graduate.

2. Medical Laboratory Assistant

Medical Lab Assistants enjoy full days with a variety of hands-on and thoughtful tasks including collecting blood, urine and specimen samples, and also computer data entry. At Vancouver Career College you’ll learn medical and administrative skills to prepare you for a varied career working in public and private laboratories, physicians’ offices and more!

“My practicum was very interesting! It was a small hospital but it was very hands-on, and I was involved with all aspects of the hospital —it taught me a lot,” says recent Medical Laboratory Assistant graduate, Nicole Roy.
