SURREY — The BC SPCA seized 84 animals from a breeding facility in Surrey on Tuesday.

The animals – 69 cats, 12 dogs and three puppies – are not available for public viewing or adoption at this point. One adult cat and one kitten were put down Tuesday night because of “critical distress.”

The cats were primarily Persians and short-haired exotics. The dogs included French bulldogs, a Boston terrier, a Pomeranian with three puppies, a Chihuahua, a poodle, a Rottweiler, a Doberman, a Jack Russell terrier and a shiba inu.

The SPCA says it will be recommending charges.
