Bicyclist killed in Surrey crash

SURREY — A man was killed while riding a bicycle Monday night when a car hit him in Fleetwood.

The victim is believed to be in his mid-20s but his identity is unknown. Police said the bicycle crossed into the path of a Honda at the intersection of 152nd Street and 86th Avenue, at about 10 p.m. The cyclist was thrown and died at the scene.

Surrey RCMP Staff Sgt. Murray Hedderson said the driver of the Honda, an 18-year-old resident of Surrey, and his passenger were transported to hospital to be treated for injuries that weren’t life threatening.

Witnesses are asked to contact the Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502.
