Delta Police have found a body on the Tsawwassen First Nation lands, a body which is believed to be that of a missing Surrey person.
Police began searching a property in Tsawwassen Thursday morning, scouring the area with forensic teams.
A detailed forensic analysis will be needed to confirm the identity of the person and the cause of death, but police believe they are connected to the missing person case.
Until that information is confirmed, the investigation will be treated as suspicious.
While the investigation is ongoing, police do not believe there are larger public safety issues.
While the remains were discovered on Tsawwassen First Nation lands, the investigation is not related to the Tsawwassen First Nation.
