RCMP say no foul play is suspected after a man’s body was discovered near the White Rock pier Saturday morning.
The man, identified Monday afternoon as Jonas Takacs, 52, was found face down in the surf of the beach approximately 50-feet east of the pier.
At the time of the discovery, at about 10:30 a.m., police said the death was under investigation but was not considered suspicious.
White Rock RCMP Staff Sgt. Daryl Creighton said the man was local, but did not specify if he was from the city or surrounding area.
“There was no concerns of any sort of suspicious activity,” Creighton said by email Monday afternoon.
A cause of death has not been released.
