Along with honking horns and hoarse throats, hockey hype now has a whole new sound.

Nick Chowlia has teamed up with artist Sony Dhugga to create an impromptu bhangra track – inspired by  Vancouver Canucks fan pandemonium in the last days of the Stanley Cup final.

The song, which is a tribute to the Canucks, is titled "Canucks Waleyan Ne" (Canucks Bhangra Tribute Song) and has gone viral amongst South Asian Canucks fans.

Dhugga, who hails from Abbotsford, along with the song’s lyricist, Kulvir Sahota, worked with Chowlia to create the track in a four-hour studio session.

After Canucks games, along the Surrey-Delta border at 72 Avenue and Scott Road, South Asian fans often gather for impromptu bhangra sessions to celebrate the team. Now, along with flags, mock Stanley Cups and Canuck blue-and-green gear to support their team, the fans can call into their local radio stations and request "Canucks Waleyan Ne."
