A 17-year-old cyclist was struck by a vehicle near the parking lot of Elements Casino in Cloverdale, at 17755 60 Ave.

Surrey RCMP recieved a call at 9:45 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 17 regarding a teen who was hit while riding his bicycle across 60 Ave.

According to police, 17-year-old boy was hit lightly by a white SUV. His leg was injured, likely from hitting the handlebars, but he remained on his bike.

The driver of the SUV pulled into the parking lot to see if the boy was alright, but was not on scene when police arrived. RCMP say the driver likely left because the teen was agitated.

Emergency Health Services treated the cyclist on scene, and he left in the ambulance, but was not taken to hospital.

Surrey RCMP are still looking for more information on the incident, and are asking for any witnesses, including the driver, to come forward.

Correction: An earlier version of this story stated the cyclist had been taken to hospital. That statement has been corrected.
