Delta police recover body near Ladner Harbour Park

Police can’t say if the death is considered suspicious

Delta police are recovering a body near Ladner Harbour Park that was reported earlier today (Jan. 17).

Around 9:45 a.m., the DPD received a report of a body in the water by a person who was walking their dog along the dyke.

Delta police were on scene immediately, according to a police release, and were assisted by Delta firefighters and at least one vehicle from the New Westminster police department’s marine unit. All were still on scene around 1:30 p.m. on Jan. 17.

The Delta Forensic Identification Section is also on scene, but has yet to determine the identity of the deceased.

At this time, police can’t say if the death is suspicious or not, but say it will be treated as such until more details arise.

The investigation is ongoing.
